This is one of the most frustrating questions from the MIJ collector. People often make the mistake of citing the American or European importer as the ‘maker’ of the guitar, when in fact several Japanese manufacturers were producing badged guitars out of their plants and shipping them to America and Europe to sell. Japanese manufacturers made multiple badges at the same plant, many of whom resemble each other closely. Some manufacturers merged or changed hands over the years which added to the confusion, sometime merging with another maker, only to pick up their name later. In some cases a manufacturer would farm out production to various manufacturers, making it still more difficult to know who made the guitar in your hands. Parts from other guitars would be used in the making of a particular badge for a period of time because it was all the manufacturer had to hand And sometimes, the guitar which is supposed to be an MIJ guitar is actually made elsewhere Korea, Indonesia because production was moved during this period in history. This page is a work in progress and as new information is revealed it will be added to the list.

Baroque Guitar for Smarties by Clive Titmuss

Tweet on Twitter From one perspective, flamenco and heavy metal might seem as far apart as the sun and the moon, but if you think about the hyperbolic emotion involved in both genres, there is a certain spritual connection. Born in East L. Growing up in a guitar-oriented culture, Mr. Rico came from a guitar household. His father, Bernardo Mason Rico, was a guitar-maker, with a shop where he built guitars, vihuelos, requintos, bajo sextos and other instruments for the Mexican-oriented musicians in L.

He also sold guitarmaking parts through the mail.

Physical A copper disc Copper just above its melting point keeps its pink luster color when enough light outshines the orange incandescence color. Copper, silver , and gold are in group 11 of the periodic table; these three metals have one s-orbital electron on top of a filled d- electron shell and are characterized by high ductility , and electrical and thermal conductivity. The filled d-shells in these elements contribute little to interatomic interactions, which are dominated by the s-electrons through metallic bonds.

Unlike metals with incomplete d-shells, metallic bonds in copper are lacking a covalent character and are relatively weak. This observation explains the low hardness and high ductility of single crystals of copper. For this reason, copper is usually supplied in a fine-grained polycrystalline form, which has greater strength than monocrystalline forms. The characteristic color of copper results from the electronic transitions between the filled 3d and half-empty 4s atomic shells — the energy difference between these shells corresponds to orange light.

As with other metals, if copper is put in contact with another metal, galvanic corrosion will occur. The contrast between the refurbished copper installed in and the green color of the original copper is clearly seen. Copper does not react with water, but it does slowly react with atmospheric oxygen to form a layer of brown-black copper oxide which, unlike the rust that forms on iron in moist air, protects the underlying metal from further corrosion passivation.

A green layer of verdigris copper carbonate can often be seen on old copper structures, such as the roofing of many older buildings [14] and the Statue of Liberty.

Two of the suites, in E major and G minor, are two-clef arrangements of earlier pieces for strings with only passing resemblance to the lute style.

De Santa Cruz late 17th C. Though we think of the guitar as a quintessentially Spanish instrument, it appears that Italy drove the development of the music and its publication. The earliest publications employ the abecedario Italian or Italian chord alphabet, without the use of tablature. Aside from a strong political connection between Spain Castille, Catalonia and Italy The Duchy of Milan , there are social and economic reasons for this.

The repertoire found in the earliest publications is mostly rooted in this tradition. Later, when the guitar became more fashionable, Italian makers began to decorate its flat plates, and neck with veneer, marquetry, parquetry and inlay, creating a desirable object for wealthy collectors that was more easily played than the lute. Later the roles reversed and the lute began to ape the strummed style of the guitar, in compositions by Gallot and Mouton.

These middle period books began to develop an instrumental idiom which took advantage of the tuning, with slurred and arpeggiated passages, chordal progressions with suspensions and dissonances and specific ornamentation, especially at the cadences. The book places its emphasis on the Passacaglia, then a few suites, followed by instructional treatise. Corbetta Passachali in D minor mixed tablature Almost every early book begins with the alphabet chart.

I’m just someone who likes to make music. I hack away at it; I have since I was 14, back when the Beatles were still new. Still, I enjoy playing, and perhaps learning even more. So this is a page for amateurs like me.

That year a customer came in with a Fender guitar neck and asked Rico to make a body for the neck.

Sometimes the father is silent and forlorn while the mother poisons her son with this garbage. Why do so many of our fathers have so little sensible advice for us on the issue of love and relationships? How is it, you might ask, that a man in his fifties or sixties could lack life experience? If he has nothing else, surely he has that.

Later Guild pickups were treated the same way. In DiMarzio agreed to build wax-potted, 4-conductor pickups for B. Rich and they were used until B. Rich began designing their own in the late s.

He lacked the massive online resources that a man today can draw upon for advice, networking and everything else that used to be done locally and on a smaller scale.

Politis, a distinguished journalist and historian has written the definitive history of Patras Carnival showing a strong evolution in each decade undergoing much change. The strongest factor has been the emergence of Patras as a trade center and the urban center for Greeks from Ionian Islands. Carnival Capital as host of the FECC Carnival City Congress Greece, for over 2, years, has been celebrated as the birthplace of the Bacchic rites, the best known of all annual festival traditions.

Patras, unlike other Greek cities, has little trace ofthis ritual but still gathers a frenzy that extends throughout the country as the town fills with frenzy and many more watch on TV. This celebration rose quickly from the epicenter of the Greek independence movement in following many waves of French and Venetian influence and has sought to be a beacon of future Carnaval in Greece — the widely considered birthplace of Carnival.

The Carnival of Patras is hailed by the natives, not only for the massive participation of the locals but for helping to create the most emancipated and progressive women of Greece. For the Grand Parade on Carnaval Sunday over This is possible because of the enthusiastic participation of the youth whose participation since , has been nothing short of phenomenal. Happiness was born a Twin. Patras is well known for its summer International Festival of the Arts, which is held throughout the summer at many venues The Patras Carnaval traces itself to impressive French masqued Carnaval Balls in the early 19th century which immediately followed the French led liberation from Ottoman rule.

A half century later, Italian Carnevale paper mache floats were introduced and the Patras Carnival parade was off to a grand start. Historically, the Venetian empire never lost a number of the nearby Ionian Islands including Corfu and traded control of many coastal cities and islands including Patras over the centuries leading to liberation in

This amp was built to play larger halls and outdoor concerts. The lack of reverb was not a big issue as most live performances had acoustics full of reverberation halls, arenas. Peter Traynor built these things to stand up to road abuse, unlike a lot of vintage stuff.

It sounds great with either bass and guitar, providing a clean and loud tone. Works great in large club settings.

The would-be lute composer must learn to flatter the instrument in just the right way.

Do you know and enjoy the work of Mr. Bachman was the original lead guitarist of The Guess Who and he was one hella killa wickedass playa. Not that you can tell in most of these songs because he’s just playing pseudo-British rhythm guitar stuff that sounds like Herman’s Hermits or Gerry And The Pacemakers, but then he wrote this friggin’ surf song like The Ventures and wow!

He’s a guitarist of no mean feat! The organ and vocals are pretty loud though, so don’t expect to be dazzled all to oblivion and back by the adequate meanderings of our Mister Bachman. Historians tend to ream this particular era of The Guess Who, proclaiming that they were a third-rate early s rock band with no unique style. That may be true, but a lot of these songs are really, REALLY catchy, beating the daylights out of, oh, early Moody Blues let’s say for the sake of argument.

Granted, they’re probably all cover tunes including the creepy harmonized Beach Boys song “Don’t Be Scared” – listen close to hear the mic feedback a bunch of times when they get too loud! My point is that Chad Allan has an adequate voice, low enough to be croony and enjoyable, if a little crybabyish and cracky during the faster parts.
